The Split Expense feature allows you to invoice multiple clients (or horses) for portions of an expense that has been incurred. It ensures that the total cost of the expense is accounted for, and that each client or horse is allotted the correct portion.

  1. Create a new invoice or open an existing invoice in draft mode.

  2. Scroll down to where it says "Split Expenses," and click the downward facing ^

  3. Select an Expense that has already been entered, or Click "+ Create a New Item" to create a new expense.

  4. Select Additional Customers to split the expense with. You can click
"+ Add Customer" to add as many customers to the Spit Item as you would like.

  5. For each customer, below "Invoice ID," You can choose to create a new invoice for them, or to add this item to an existing invoice if one exists. Any existing unsent invoices will be listed in the Invoice ID drop-down menu.

  6. If you would like to add horses, click the blue + below Horses to select one or multiple horses for each customer.

  7. The invoice will automatically calculate an even distribution of the expense across all horses or customers.

    1. If you wish to alter the distribution, change the percentage or amount for the horse or customer that you would like to specify.

    2. Click the lock icon next to their amount.

    3. Then click "Recalculate."

  8. You can also add multiple Spit Expense Items. To add a new one, select "+ Add Item" and repeat the steps above.
