Dashboard
The Dashboard is your home screen in BarnManager. In the navigation it is labeled Activity and opens at /dashboard. It is available on every plan and is the first thing you see after signing in.
The Dashboard pulls together your day at a glance: a greeting, the day's weather (if enabled), your schedule, your outstanding tasks, recent posts, and — on the Pro plan — a billing summary. Each section is a separate card, and the ones you see depend on your plan and your role permissions.
What the Dashboard shows
The Dashboard is a single scrolling page made up of the following sections, in this order:

If you don't have permission to see a section, it is hidden rather than shown empty.
Schedule
The Schedule card is the centerpiece of the Dashboard. It loads the current week's events and shows them in one of two views.
Day and Week views (desktop)
Use the Day / Week toggle in the top-right of the card to switch views. Your choice is remembered for next time.
- Day ("Today's schedule") lists each of today's events in time order. Each row shows the start time, the event title, a color-coded type badge (for example Vet appointment, Farrier appointment, Lesson, Training, Vaccination, Show, Feeding), and the duration.
- Week ("This week's schedule") shows a seven-day grid from Sunday through Saturday. Each day lists its events as small color-coded chips, with today highlighted. If a day has more events than fit, a +N more link reveals the rest.
Switching between Day and Week does not reload data — both views use the same week of events.
Mobile
On a phone the toggle is replaced by a seven-day date strip across the top of the card. Tap any day to see that day's events listed below. Today is selected by default.
Working with events
- Click any event to open its details.
- If you have permission to edit events or lessons, a Create event button appears in the card header. Click it to add an event; it defaults to the day currently in view.
- Use the Open full calendar → link at the bottom of the card to go to the full Calendar.
When you open an event, task, or post from the Dashboard, its back button returns you to the Dashboard.
Tasks
The Tasks card shows your top outstanding tasks (those assigned to you that aren't complete).
- Each task shows its title, a due-date badge (Overdue, Due today, Due tomorrow, or a future due date), and a count of any open subtasks.
- Click the circle on the left of a task to mark it complete or incomplete without leaving the Dashboard.
- Click a task title to open its full details.
- If you can create tasks, use the Create task button to add one.
- Use View all tasks → at the bottom to open the full Tasks page.
When you have no outstanding tasks, the card shows "You're all caught up."
Posts
The Posts card shows the most recent posts in your barn (newest first, archived posts excluded).
- Each post shows its title, a short preview of the body, the author, the reply count, and how long ago it was last updated.
- Click a post to open it.
- If you can create posts, use the Create post button.
- Use View all posts → to open the full Posts page.
Weather
When the weather widget is turned on for your barn, the Dashboard shows the current forecast for your barn's location. If the widget is on but no location has been set yet, you'll see a prompt to add one. The weather widget and its location are configured by an administrator.
Billing (Pro)
On the Pro plan, when invoicing is enabled for your barn and you have permission to read invoicing, a billing summary appears at the bottom of the Dashboard. It shows tiles for Unbilled, Awaiting payment, Overdue, and Collected this month. Click through to the Invoicing area for the full picture.
