Tasks

Tasks help you track work around the barn: what needs doing, who's responsible, when it's due, and which horses it involves. Tasks can be broken into subtasks, tagged, and have files attached.

Tasks is available on every plan.

What a task is

A task has a title, an optional due date, one or more assignees, an optional description, and can be linked to horses and tags. A task can also contain subtasks, each with its own assignee and date. Tasks are either Incomplete or Complete.

View tasks

  1. Go to Tasks.
  2. The list shows these columns: Task, Due On, Tags, Horses, and Actions.
  3. Use the filter bar to narrow the list:

Assign a task

Use the Assign To field when creating or editing a task to choose one or more team members. Each subtask can be assigned separately. You can filter the task list by Assignee to see who is responsible for what.

Complete a task

  • On the My Tasks view, use the checkbox next to a task to mark it Complete or Incomplete.
  • Completing a task with subtasks reflects how many subtasks are done; subtasks can be completed individually.
  • Use the Status filter to switch between Complete, Incomplete, Archived, and All.

Task actions

From a task's menu in the list you can:

ActionWhat it does
DuplicateCreates a copy of the task
EditOpens the task for changes
ArchiveMoves the task out of the active list
DeletePermanently removes the task

Restore an archived task by opening it from the Archived status filter.

Linking tasks to horses

Add horses to a task using the Horses field when creating or editing it. Linked horses appear in the task's Horses column. Each horse profile also has a Tasks tab that shows the task list filtered to that horse, so you can see everything outstanding for a single horse and create new tasks already linked to it.
