The Dashboard in BarnManager lets you share announcements and important updates with your team. Here's how posts are displayed and how notifications work.
How are Dashboard posts ordered?
Pinned posts are always displayed at the top of the Dashboard. Any newly created posts will appear below the pinned posts. If you don't see your new post at the top of the Dashboard, check whether there is a pinned post above it — your new post may be further down the page.
Why didn't I get a notification for my own post?
When you create a Dashboard post and select "All Notify", notifications are sent to all other users — but the creator of the post does not receive a notification. This is expected behavior, since the system assumes you already know about a post you created.
If you would like to receive notifications for your own posts as well, you can explicitly specify the list of contacts to receive them and include yourself in that list, rather than using "All Notify."
I can't find my post on the Dashboard
If a post you created doesn't appear to be visible:
Check if there are pinned posts pushing your new post further down the page. Scroll down to look for it.
Try using the search feature to locate the post by keyword.
If the post is visible in your Timeline but not on the Dashboard, contact us through the chat widget and we'll investigate.
